Job Announcement Grants and Program Officer, Lingnan Foundation The Lingnan Foundation is a private foundation with offices currently located on the campus of Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. The Foundation’s mission is to contribute to the advancement of higher education in the historic Lingnan region of South China, including Hong Kong and Macao. Since the 1980s, the Foundation has primarily supported programs at Sun Yat-sen (Zhongshan) University, its constituent Lingnan (University) College, and Lingnan University in Hong Kong. In recent years, the Foundation has sought to fulfill its mission by supporting programs that advance broad learning and service to society. Further information can be found at www.lingnanfoundation.org. The Foundation seeks to hire a Grants and Program Officer on a full or part-time basis, depending on experience and ability. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Grants/Program Officer provides the following grant management services: • Assisting with planning and implementing the grants program; • Closely reviewing grant budgets and expenditures; and maintaining regularly updated grants schedules; • Preparing relevant spreadsheets and related evidence of grant payments and reports for our annual audit; • Assuring the timely payment of grants once approved. The Grants/Program Officer also provides program support by: • Serving as a coordinator and principal Foundation liaison for the W.T. Chan Fellowships Program; • Attending relevant conferences and meetings, as directed by the Executive Director. In addition, the Grants/Program Officer has several specific administrative responsibilities: • Handling logistics for the semi-annual Board Meetings, and drafting minutes of those meetings; • Coordinating the publication of the Foundation’s biennial report and serving as webmaster for its website; • Maintaining the Foundation’s records, files, and reference materials in proper order; • Assisting the Executive Director in communication with the Foundation’s officers and committees as well as the extended “Lingnan Family”. Candidates should hold a Bachelors Degree, or higher, and at least two years of related job experience in managing grants programs and/or working for a non-profit organization. Exemplary organizational skills and strong communication skills sought. Practical experience working in or with Chinese educational institutions and superior written and spoken English are required. Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written) is desired. Cantonese ability, a plus. Computer skills must include expert ability in Word, Powerpoint, and Excel. Familiarity with ACCESS, PhotoShop, and Dreamweaver also desirable.
